Happy thanksgiving eve!

I Hello and happy thanksgiving eve! Sorry it's been a while, been super busy with work. Sunday we managed to go to the storage unit and bring back all of our Christmas stuff! I think next year we are going to need a Uhaul there is so much of it!! Since it was 60 degrees we were able to get the Christmas lights up outside. Can't wait to get everything else up. I have managed to sneak some time to the basement to work on some layouts and now I have some spare time to share! Today is the first proper snow. I love it!! Snow is just so magical and fun and awesome and... Well you get the point!
Anywho now to share some of my projects.

Both these layouts were made with The Scraptastic Club October kit Heart it Races and the Add-on kit. I originally bought this kit because it had a cute little wooden fox. But once the kit arrived, I fell in love with everything else.
Since I'm not sure when I will be able to return here I will go ahead and share the other two layouts I have worked on.
This was just with some basic cardstock which I believe was DCWV. The clock, which is just right before midnight, I inked black and added some sparkle.
Hard to see the sparkle, but I pinkie promise it's there!
And last but not least a wedding layout!
The papers are DCWV Once a upon a Time and also their Corrugrated Paper.
That's its for now. It's going to be a busy weekend so I will get as much scrapping as I can and of course come and share. Next weekend is Comicon and that's always a ton of fun!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving tomorrow!!!!
Until next time!

Butchering day 2

Hello hello! I'm here today to share day 2 of butchering and my last layout that I have worked on. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! It's currently snowing/raining here! Means lots of snuggles with the puppies! I'm trying to give Doctor Who a shot after much persisting nagging from my mother. I made through season 1 and was starting to enjoy it. Now I'm on season 2 with this new Doctor and I'm just not feeing yet. I'm trying to give it a chance though. Or will patiently wait it out for this Doctor to go away. Oh and today is The Little Memaids anniversary so Happy 25!!!

On to butchering now. Since all the pigs were cut and packaged the day before, Michael and I were able to start the fires right at 6:00am. Shockingly, we were the first ones down there on Saturday.
Fire! Michael is pro at keeping the fires going. I just like to get close to it and throw things into the fire.
We had to fill the pots by buckets because the hose refused to thaw out I think they finally got it after all the meats were done.
Inside the pots are hearts, livers, kidneys, tongues and head meat. I have tried it all and my opinion the heart is the best! Taste like a steak!
Keep the fire going!
Once the meats are done, everyone gathers around the table to chow down!
Some yummy heart!
And a tongue, though I didn't eat it.
The last pot is full of lard. When it is done cooking the press it and fill the buckets up with lard to cook with. They alsoake these things called cracklings. Michael says it taste like bacon but I think he is nuts. I'm not a fan of these at all.
Well that's sums up butchering. We have all of our meat out away in the freezer. Thinking about someday getting a freezer just for the pork because we have so much of it!
Now for my layout.
This was using my kit October Kit from Scraptastic called "Heart it Races" I love how these kits have everything you need that all goes together because sometimes it's a struggle finding just the right thing that goes with the layout.
Well off I go now. Still have a lot of laundry to catch up on. I should be able to get some layouts done tonight! Or maybe some cards. Or maybe both. Depends how long I plan to hang out in the basement.
Until next time!!!!

Day 1 of butchering

Yesterday was the first day of butchering. Starts bright and early 6:00am. This year we got all the pigs butchered on the first day except for one.
There wasn't nearly as many pigs as there usually is so that's why we got them done quick.
This was our half a pig. I forgot to take a picture of it cut up but we get tenderloins, roast, ribs and just a little bit of sausage. The ham and bacon we will pick up another day because it still has to be cured.
Here is Michael hard at work cutting.  I was busy vacuum packing but forgot to take a selfie.
At one point we had a new friend.
I called him possum and he was enjoying some fat that was thrown out there. He really didn't care about anything else at all.
I have plenty more photos but that's of today's adventure that I shall share tomorrow. But I do have a layout to share with everyone.
This is from the Scraptastic Club November 2014 kit called Free Fallin'.  Even though it's a fall kit I really liked the colors for these photos. I thought they went really well.
I do have one more layout to share but I will save it for tomorrow!
Until next time!!!!!

I have returned!

Good morning world! Been busy with work haven't had a chance to catch up! But I have some fun layouts to share have no fears! You may ask why am I up and obviously wake enough to write up a blog post. That is a good question. The answer... We are on our way to butchering!! I play the important role of meat packer and Michael's role is fire man. I will post some pictures of our adventure probably on Monday or so. Our adventure has already started out with excitement. I became acquainted with a deer. And because he was jumping over the guard rail, momentium had those horns pointing right at me. Fortunately Michael is an awesome driver and no cars were in the other lane and all was well in the world. Newsflash people, the world does move in slow motion on such occasions. But we missed hitting him by mere centimeters and all is well in the world. Though the puppies were NOT happy but such an event.
On more exciting news, yesterday was the first snow of the year!! I love snow and can play in it for hours!!!!!! I even threw my first snowball of the year. Snow is just the best! Every year I wish for about 20 feet of it. But sadly it has yet to happy :( but a girl can keep dreaming!!!!!!
Anywho on to the layouts.
These papers are DCWV Old World. I'm really loving these papers and I'm glad I bought them. I also added a little shaker pack in the corner there but forgot to take a close up picture of it. Sorry gang!

These papers are also DCWV Old world. For this layout I used from sketchsavy.com but I forgot which one. I thought I saved it on my phone but I can't find this one.
I have other layouts but I don't want to share everything at once! I will be back sometime this weekend to share what else I have. For now I might nap or something.
Until next time!!!!

DCWV November Stack-a-Holic Challenge

Hello everyone! As you might of notice I absolutely love DCWV product and naturally I read their blog just about every day. Well every month they have a challenge. The month of October was the first time I entered the challenge and not only was my Halloween layout choosen to be in the Top 10, it also was one of the winners! That layout was made before this blog so now I can dedicate a whole post to what I submit every month!
This is the sketch for this month. At first I was having problems because I like my photos to be the standard 4x6" and therefore don't have any of smaller sizes. But after staring at things for about a day I slowly came up with a plan. The end result was this:
I mainly used DCWV Once Upon a Time. For the hearts, I used DCWV Foiled Vellum.
Up next was the card challenge.
Right away I knew I was going to use something from the new Christmas line.
For this I decided to go with DCWV Winter in the Woods. I fell in love with the line the instant I bought it! I love the colors for these papers. The snowflakes I cut out from the cardstock that corresponds with this line. I dug through my stash and found some blue gems that I thought would be perfect for the "Merry and Bright" tag
Since I had the Christmas stuff out, I couldn't just stop with one card.
This is DCWV Storybook Christmas. Another line perfect for Christmas! The bottom strip is from the Corrugated stack that corresponds with these two amazing lines. The Noel comes from the Christmas and Winter Cardstack.
And I was inspired to do just one more card for the night.
This was also with DCWV Storybook Christmas and The Christmas/Winter Cardstock papers. I added a red ribbon in the middle of the green cardstock to add some more Christmas color. Then I felt a little deer was needed for this page. So I used another piece of Cardstock and I placed him in the corner.
Well that's all I have for now. I'm sure I will have some more fun projects to share in the next couple of days.
Until next time!!!!

Disney fun!

Good morning world! Hope all is well for everyone! Can't believe it's only 50 days until Christmas! Time is going so quickly. Next weekend is already butchering time and I can't wait to share the experience with all you fantastic readers. Until then I have been a busy little bumblebee and I have some layouts to share.
Simple Stories Say Cheese is such a fun line to use with Disney stuff. Stitch is one of my favorite characters and I just love this magic shot.
Another fun magic shot. Word of advice, when you go to Disney but Memory Maker and ask every photographer you see if they can do the magic shots! Magic shots are such fun photos!
To add some dimension, I added the balloon and used some of the 3D pop ups in it. The papers I used were Simple Stories Say Cheese. Trust me if you plan to do a Disney scrapbook, you need this line in your life!
This was some new stuff I picked up at Joanns. I had my eye on it for a while and finally decided to buy it. And I'm glad I did! This is DCWV Old World and I just love all the papers and the texture it adds to the layouts. I found this sketch on Pinterest that unfortunately wasn't labeled who it belonged too. However, when I saw it, I knew this sketch would perfect with these papers and I really liked it for this photo.
For my last layout, I used DCWV Citrus Stack. Once I layed out the papers I knew it needed a little something sparkly.
I added some color to these flowers and some glitter. I also added the buttons to the middle of the flowers to add some dimension to the page. I also liked the idea of the butterflies flying through the flowers.
That's all I have for now. I'm in the process of finishing up some other layouts that I will share in the next day or so.
Until next time!!!!

DCWV Eek-a-Boo

That's it folks! That is the end to my Halloween mini album 2014.  With the end of Halloween, it means decorating for Thanksgiving!
Michael is pretty proud of his setup, which did turn out super awesome if I do say so myself! I contributed by putting the leaves on the window.
I ordered some new goodies that came on Friday and I had been dying to play withy new stuff!
Graphic 45 Mother Goose. I just love the papers showing the different nursery rhymes. For now I just made these two cards but I can't wait to make even more fun goodies. I already have a few ideas that I plan to do in the near future.
But for now I'm planning to work on the Disney wedding/honeymoon book. It's been a while since I have done something with that and I really hope to have it done by the end of the year. Still have lots of pictures to go though!
Until next time!!!!
