December stack-a-Holic challenge

Hello and Happy Holidays!!!!!!! Can't believe Christmas is just a week away!! Today I completed all of my Christmas shopping and just waiting for those last few items to come through the mail. Then it's wrapping time! I promise I have been doing some scrapping but not as much as I would like. But I promise I have a very good reason. The reason... I had the perfect photo I wanted to scrap. While making our Christmas cards, he can up with an amazing idea for a photo. This resulted in the cutest photo of my two little puppies, Jasmine and Belle. With the DCWV December challenge, I knew I wanted to use the photo. However, nothing seemed to work with the photo. Here is this months layout challenge
I knew right away that I was only going to use the one photo because I didn't want it to share the spotlight so that was part of the challenge making a layout made for three layouts work for a layout with just one photo.
And here is the close up of the little monsters.
The papers used was DCWV Storybook Christmas. I really liked how this paper brought out the Christmasy feeing of the photo. I also wanted to keep the embellsihments simple.
I have some Disney ones I have done but there is one more I want to do before I share those. I should be able to get some time this weekend to work on the last page.
Until next time!!

Christmas time is here!!

Hello everyone! I know it's been a while but working in retail means working crazy hours! Unfortunelty I still haven't made it to the basement to work on stuff but I wanted to stop by and show off our Christmas decor!!! We have enough Christmas stuff where we almost need a Uhaul to get it from the storage unit. As it is we take bother cars because unfortunately last year some things were left behind in the hallway and "mysteriously" disappeared. :(
We have plans for when we own a house how we plan to decorate everything that's how much stuff we have. For now though we work with what we have and some things just don't make the cut.
First the outside...
An 8 foot Santa greeting everyone from the back porch!
This is the front of the house.
Closeup of Mr. Snowman
Mr. and Mrs. Deer with Rudolph who they adopted.
Mickey!
Baby Penguin. Mama Penguin didn't make the cut this year.
Our wreath on the door.
And the wreath that is on our bedroom window.
Now for the inside...
My Disney Christmas shelf
My Stuffie Shelf.
Even Shelby gets some decor!
Santa and reindeer
Stockings.
And the bathroom!! It's ok to be jealous that you do not have the awesome toilet seat and matching rug.
And now for the village which I think this is one of my favorite set ups to date.
Tonight we are getting the tree and tomorrow will probabley be tree decorating day! Tomorrow is also Comicon day which is always fun!  I pinkie promise that I should be able to get some layouts done sometime this week and of course I will share!
Until next time!!!!!

Happy thanksgiving eve!

I Hello and happy thanksgiving eve! Sorry it's been a while, been super busy with work. Sunday we managed to go to the storage unit and bring back all of our Christmas stuff! I think next year we are going to need a Uhaul there is so much of it!! Since it was 60 degrees we were able to get the Christmas lights up outside. Can't wait to get everything else up. I have managed to sneak some time to the basement to work on some layouts and now I have some spare time to share! Today is the first proper snow. I love it!! Snow is just so magical and fun and awesome and... Well you get the point!
Anywho now to share some of my projects.

Both these layouts were made with The Scraptastic Club October kit Heart it Races and the Add-on kit. I originally bought this kit because it had a cute little wooden fox. But once the kit arrived, I fell in love with everything else.
Since I'm not sure when I will be able to return here I will go ahead and share the other two layouts I have worked on.
This was just with some basic cardstock which I believe was DCWV. The clock, which is just right before midnight, I inked black and added some sparkle.
Hard to see the sparkle, but I pinkie promise it's there!
And last but not least a wedding layout!
The papers are DCWV Once a upon a Time and also their Corrugrated Paper.
That's its for now. It's going to be a busy weekend so I will get as much scrapping as I can and of course come and share. Next weekend is Comicon and that's always a ton of fun!
Hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving tomorrow!!!!
Until next time!

Butchering day 2

Hello hello! I'm here today to share day 2 of butchering and my last layout that I have worked on. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! It's currently snowing/raining here! Means lots of snuggles with the puppies! I'm trying to give Doctor Who a shot after much persisting nagging from my mother. I made through season 1 and was starting to enjoy it. Now I'm on season 2 with this new Doctor and I'm just not feeing yet. I'm trying to give it a chance though. Or will patiently wait it out for this Doctor to go away. Oh and today is The Little Memaids anniversary so Happy 25!!!

On to butchering now. Since all the pigs were cut and packaged the day before, Michael and I were able to start the fires right at 6:00am. Shockingly, we were the first ones down there on Saturday.
Fire! Michael is pro at keeping the fires going. I just like to get close to it and throw things into the fire.
We had to fill the pots by buckets because the hose refused to thaw out I think they finally got it after all the meats were done.
Inside the pots are hearts, livers, kidneys, tongues and head meat. I have tried it all and my opinion the heart is the best! Taste like a steak!
Keep the fire going!
Once the meats are done, everyone gathers around the table to chow down!
Some yummy heart!
And a tongue, though I didn't eat it.
The last pot is full of lard. When it is done cooking the press it and fill the buckets up with lard to cook with. They alsoake these things called cracklings. Michael says it taste like bacon but I think he is nuts. I'm not a fan of these at all.
Well that's sums up butchering. We have all of our meat out away in the freezer. Thinking about someday getting a freezer just for the pork because we have so much of it!
Now for my layout.
This was using my kit October Kit from Scraptastic called "Heart it Races" I love how these kits have everything you need that all goes together because sometimes it's a struggle finding just the right thing that goes with the layout.
Well off I go now. Still have a lot of laundry to catch up on. I should be able to get some layouts done tonight! Or maybe some cards. Or maybe both. Depends how long I plan to hang out in the basement.
Until next time!!!!
