Planning a Disney Trip

If you have ever been to Disney World, you know there is a lot of planning involved. And while their app is great the Wifi not so much. Often leaving frustration trying to figure out where you need to be next. For our trip in September, I decided to create a planning journal. And what better collection for a planning journal then the 3 Simple Stories Say Cheese collections! For this mini book, I also wanted a try a few techniques that I have always wanted to do but too afraid to do on a layout.   It's still a work in progress but here is what I have so far.

To make it easier to flip to the day I need, I added my own little tab to the side of the page.

This is an envelope that I folded myself. I looked up various Orgami folds and found this one to be easy but neat looking as well. I actual used a piece of tracing paper and stamped on the ink. I tried to add some texture but it didn't show up so well.
For this page I added water to my ink and wiped onto my paper. It was a little difficult finding the right ratio of ink and water but overall I am pretty happy with it.

I have left plenty of space to add in Fast pass times in addition little notes of fun adventures that may have happened during the day. The very last page is a file folder so I can add any little souvenirs (or those pesky receipts) to it.

That's it for now. I am having a lot of fun with this mini book so far and still have a few new things I want to try out.
Until next time!

When Two World's Collide.

When I first found out we were moving, almost immediately began dreaming of my scrap room. While I was grateful to have my own space in the basement, I dreamed of having my papers organized on a shelf, embellishments organized so they were easy to find, my alphabets organise by color, and walls decorated however I please. Finally, that dream was becoming a reality. The catch, I would be sharing that space with Sebastian. Any crafter knows that with crafting there is a mess. And any parents knows that toddlers and mess are the same words. So colliding these two should be pushing the limits of mess. However, some how some way Sebastian and I have made it work so we can cohabitate in our play/craft area.
Now is it always this clean, no. I try to clean it every night but sometimes I let it go. In fact there was a massive Pom Pom explosion that sat on the floor for a couple days.

Here is my area. It's still a work in progress but it's almost there. I love being able to spread out what I am working on and see the different things I have. My cricut and sewing machine are now able to be left out making it so much easier to use.
Sebastian also has his own crafing space. Often I will bring his table over to the right side because he likes to show me what he is working on. Also he likes to put his markers in the table legs and isn't quite strong enough to lift the table to get them out on his own.

Here is the play side of the room. He loves his Little People and is often sending them on some new adventure! He also has his education corner with enough books to rival a library. His flash cards, instruments and other various educational toys can also be found there.
Finally his cupcake wall. When Sebastian was in daycare, part of his leaving routine was to point to the birthday cupcakes by the door and we would review the different months. Sometimes it was a quick review and other times it was a 5 minute review. When that days session was over he would point to the door. I knew I would have to include Birthday Cupcakes in his playroom.

And there you have it. Somehow someway two completely different worlds have managed to collide and turn into a pretty awesome and fun room in my opinion. I am finally able to scrap whenever my little heart desires all while Sebastian plays with his toys while dancing to some Disney music.
Currently I am working on a fun project that will be spread out into multiple post!
Until next time!!

First Character

One of my biggest concern when planning Sebastian's birthday trip was that he was going to be afraid of the characters. As in screaming bloody murder not wanting to be breathing the same air as them and scaring him for life from anything Disney including his beloved Mickey Mouse scared. I had managed to reserve several character meals and several times a day I would go back and forth trying to figure out if I should risk it and keep them or find some other meals.
Our first park day we went to Epcot and immediately was the moment of truth. Daisy was near the entrance so we decided to go ahead and get in line. My hopes were that maybe meeting a character he was familiar with would ease him into it. When it almost our turn, Daisy had to go and check on Donald therefore making our wait time a little longer then anticipated and making for an unhappy Sebastian.
Finally we saw her walking back over to her spot and at this time Sebastian was a very unhappy little boy. But the second he saw her walk past time he went from screaming and crying to standing there in silence and awe. When we stepped up to finally meet Daisy Duck he gave her an unsure glance followed by a happy little grin! He absolutely loved meeting characters! He loved going up to them with a huge smile on his face and lots of hugs and snuggles to give.

To document his first charater meet and great, I quickly knew I was going to need it to be a 2 page layout. There were several photos I  wanted to use and I love trying to include the characters signature with the  layout  I used October Afternoon Thrift Store for my pages as well as a couple random October Afternoon papers. To make the actual layout I used a sketch from the WG Club on Disney Scrappers.
The summer of scrapping continues and I hope everyone else is having an amazing summer!
Until next time!!

Bestest Friends

Good morning world!
Hope everyone has been having a fabulous summer so far! I have been having an amazing time scrapping the rest of summer away.

My first trip to Disney World was back when I was in third grade. It was an amazing trip full of great memories. My Uncle went along with us and allowed my sister and I to each choose any souvenir that we wanted. I went with a giant Minnie Mouse. I was a small kid so to me so was practically life size. And 20 years later I still have her!
As you can see she still has a loving home but now with Sebastian taking care of her! She also has her pal Giant Mickey to hang out with as well!  When it was determined Sebastian would be celebrating his first birthday in Disney World, my mom was determined to buy him giant Mickey!
Sebastian immediately accepted Mickey as his best friend! It may not be the greatest photo, but if you look closely you can see the giant smile on Sebastian's face as he gives Giant Mickey a big hug!
For this layout I used Carta Bella Toy Box. There was so many great embellishments and papers that I knew would go perfectly with this photo!
Well im off to watch the new Mickey and the Roadster Racers episode with Sebastian. Hot rod diggity dog!
Until next time!

Back to scrapping!

Hello everyone! So sorry it's been such a long time. The last couple of months have been chaotic due to moving. But now we are all moved and pretty much settled so I have time to scrap again!
During my time away from scrapping, I have been buying all sorts of goodies though that I couldn't wait to try! One of my fun new goodies comes from The FairyTale Club. I used the May Kit, Girly and Strong, for my layout.
Such fun and bright colors! Love how perfectly everything goes together.
I also added a few embellishments from my stash
To create this layout I used an exclusive sketch that Susan Stringfellow made for the White Glove Club over on Disney Scrappers!
Until next time!
