When you wish upon a star...

Your dreams come true! Despite the fact that I'm 25 years old, I fee like this still holds true. That with a little faith, pixie dust and wishing upon a star anything is possible! Last year it was announced that with Disneyland celebrating their 60th anniversary with a big celebration. Complete with covering Sleeping Beauty's castle with diamonds. I, of course, desperately wanted to go. But knew it was going to be a long shot though. So I put the thought aside and that was that. But it still pulled at my heart strings. The other day on Destination America, was the Disney marathon. It got those wheels turning again. This time I took it a step further and priced it out. It looked possible but the timing just wasn't there. I pitched it to Michael and he agreed that the timing just wasn't there. Before we went to sleep though, the most amazing thing happened. Ladies and gentleman... I'm going to Disneyland!!!!!
Michael decided that instead of coming home after our San Antonio vacation, we can head to Disneyland for the weekend!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a result I really want to push myself to get my wedding and honeymoon album completed. Just today alone I got two layouts completed. And here is the first one.
This first layout I used DCWV Old World papers. This was part of a challenge on the Disney Scrap board I'm on. Here is the sketch we were suppose to use.
Such a fantastic sketch! I stayed pretty true to the original sketch. An extra challenge that was part of this was to use hearts on the layout. So I replaced the leaves on the original sketch with two hearts and a Mickey! Here is my other layout.
For this I used my Scraptastic February kit Counting Stars.  I must say that when I first say this months choices I only thought this kit as ok and ordered it because I really wasn't interested in the Valetine Kit that was the other choice. Even when I got it I wasn't super thrilled. But once I started using it, that ok feeling immediately turned into love! I'm pretty sure this is my favorite kit that I have ordered so far. I again used a sketch with this layout and here it is.
I have been wanting to use this sketch for a while but had been nervous about that stitched square around it. I do want to start using stitching in my layouts but today was not that day.
So that's it for today. Gonna start planning our September vacation soon!!
Still so excited!!!!!
Until next time!

A cold cold Sunday...

Good afternoon happy peppy people! Though there probabley isn't that many happy peppy people due to the weather. We are currently sitting at negative 16 degrees after the windchill!! 😨
On a happier note last nights dinner was delicious! In case you didn't see it in facebook or want a refresher here it is.
We had Ceaser salad, Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, egg noodles topped with lemon butter, green beans, steak and lobster. For dessert we had chocolate chip cookies. It was delicious!!
Because of the cold I have been bringing my stuff up to the living room since the basement sits at 40 degrees of dead air. People who know me know that the cold doesn't bother me. But dead air in a room is no fun for my little toes. But I have plenty of layouts to share and today I will share two of them.
Here is the first layout which I like to call "Off to Neverland". For this layout I mainly used my February Scraptastic kit Counting Stars. You can't see it in the picture but that little orange triangle in the top corner says "Never Grow Up". As soon as I saw that I said of course that wil go perfect with my Peter Pan photos. These photos are from the Festival of Fantasy parade which I absolutely love.
I added some rainbow Washi Tape from my stash on the sides to go with the little rainbow on the float.
Here is my next layout.
This one also came from my February kit. I do have a small confession about this layout. In the bottom left corner I tried my hand at using the star stencil that came with the kit. In my head it was going to look amazing. On paper not so much. I tried to add some glitter to it and outinge the stars because in my head that's what I had imagined the finishing piece of work and that it was going to be super amazing. I just ended up destroying those poor little stars. Since I had already matted everything else down, I decided to add the little hearts and the hidden Mickey. Moral of story... Practice the stenciling on a random piece of paper instead of going straight to the layout with it.
That's it for now my friends. Thinking about bringing something up to work on today but haven't decided what yet. Stay warm my friends!
Until next time!!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!! Hope everyone has a fantastic day full of love and happiness!
I have a little card to share that used DCWV Stack-a-Holic sketch for a card. Here is the sketch.
And here is my card I made for my husband Michael!
The papers I used were DCWV Once Upon A Time. I also used a piece from their Foiled Vellum pack. The doilie came from my stash. I used a rub on from my stash in the middle and on the edges I went around it with it with my Tim Holtz Distress Sickles Antique Bronze to give it some sparkle.
On the inside I wrote "If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you"
So that's my card. Tomorrow I shall return with a new layout.
Once again everyone have a great Valentines Day!
Until next time!!

I'm Late Challenge

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mine went pretty well. I have a layout to share with all you lovely people. This challenge was from the Disney Scrapbooking group I'm part of. It was to use the colors of the White Rabbit. Here are the colors.
And here is what I came up with.
For this layout I went with October Afternoon Thrift Shop. I lined the top and bottom with a silver ribbon and then in the middle of each used some olive Washi Tape. I completely forgot about my Washi Tape! But since I have reorganized my stuff I have my tape out and plan to use it more!
Time for me to go back to my area and do some more layouts now!
Until next time!!

February Stack-A-Holic Challenge

Hello everyone! Hope everyone's February is going well! I ended up only getting 19 layouts done last month but that just means I gotta work a little harder this month at my goal! And so far I have one done! This layout is for DCWV Febuary Stack-A-Holic challenge. Here is the sketch.
And here is my layout using it.
Since Febuary is the month of love, it seemed perfect to use a wedding photo!
For this layout I went with DCWV Once Upon A Time. I also used DCWV Foiled Vellum paper for one of the banners. The hearts I stamped some of my dictionary papers that my mom punched out for me and then lined them with my silver paints. Holy cow was that hard! Took forever to even out the paint. But I think it turned out pretty good for my first try! The title came from my stash of Thickers.
Well it's time for me to go back down to my work area and get some more layouts done!
Until next time!!
