Another kit down!

Hello everyone! Can't believe it is March already. And even more surprising, Sebastian is going to be in 2 in just two days! 😱😱 Where has the time gone??? This time last year we were arriving in Disney World to begin his epic first birthday celebration! So much fun!

For the second kit in Shimelle's Clear the Desk class, we were to take papers and embellishments from two different collections and put them together. Here is what I came up with.

I took pieces from Crate Paper Little You (boy) and Shimelle Little By Little. I liked the soft colors of the Little You papers that of course are perfect for baby photos but wanted to add in some pops of color to really make things stand out a little more. Little by Little had those perfect colors while still maintaining that look of a baby album.
And here are the three layouts I created using these pieces.

The photo of Sebastian under the UV lights was such a difficult photo to scrap but I really like how the papers worked with it. Its a very dark photo using all blue and purple as the colors but somehow the papers were able to brighten it a bit so you are able to tell what the photo is.

Michael is in charge of the journaling for the last layout because I felt it was important to have his thoughts and feelings included for such an important moment of our lives.

That's is for now. Today I will be finishing painting the playroom which has been fun but a lot of work.
Here is what it looks like. And I have a ton of fun stuff to add to the walls plus going to reorganize how his toys are set up. Sebastian is going to love it!
Until next time!!

First kit completed!

Hey gang! As I had mentioned the other day, I signed up for Shimelle's newest class, Clear the Desk . And boy am I glad that I did! For my first kit I managed to make 7 layouts from it! Here is the kit I had put together .
For papers I pulled out some Simple Stories, Echo Park, Pebbles, Scraptastic and Pink Paislee. I did end up adding a couple more sheets of papers not pictured since I was in need of my baclgrpbac papers. For embellishments I picked some supplies from Simple Stories, October Afternoon, My Minds Eye, Jolee Boutique and my supplies of hearts, stars and arrows. Again I ended up switching out some embellishments to better work with my photos.
And here are my 7 layouts I created with my kit!

I love that by following along on how to put this kit together, I was able to come up with a kit that worked with so many different photos. Without the extra push I never would of thought about putting these all together!  Such a fun class and can't wait to see what's next!

Until next time!

Happy Dance!

Hello gang! The weather has been beautiful here and Sebastian and I have been enjoying some time outside. Today it was nice enough to fill up the water tabel for some splashing fun... That is until it started raining a cold rain.

It resulted it me being "mean mom" and dragging him inside literally kicking and screaming .

Anywho I have had some opportunity to get into my scrappy area and have some fun!
Here is Sebastian enjoying The Incredible'' Dance Party! At the time Sebastian still wasnt walking yet so he couldn't quite get his dance on but he absolutely loves music and was bouncing away!

For this layout I used my May Fairy Tale Kit for the papers. Embellishments are some October Afternoon pieces as well as some assorted things from my stash. I love my Mickey heads that I recently found on eBay and will definitely be ordering some more! I was a little worried with how they would stick since they were pretty inexpensive but I have had zero problems!

That's it for now but I do have some more exciting layouts to share! I am currently enrolled in Shimelle's new class, Clear the Desk, and have already made a couple fun layouts using the kit I created yesterday from the first video. Once I complete that kit I'll be back to share all the layouts I made from it!

Until next time!

I'm still here!

Hey gang! It's been a while since I have last posted. But I'm still here and scrapping away. My Scrappy goals for this year is to finish Sebastian's First Birthday trip to Disney World and to keep up with my blog. Fingers crossed both those things happen!
I have joined a couple scrapbook groups on Facebook and so far have been doing very well making a dent in my giant stack of photos. So now it's time to come back here and start posting again!
Back in August I joined Shimelle's Magical Scrapbook Class that focused on scrapping Disney photos. And while I watched the videos and read the printouts for whatever reason I didn't actually make any layouts following the class. Well now I finally am! And it has been such a great class to follow! Here areaa few layouts that i made from the class .

Ok ok so these photos are actually from our October trip (Hi Megan!) But these photos fit perfectly of telling a story. Sebastian had a actually fallen asleep during the movie, Sleepy Hallow. However there was no way I was going to pass up taking a photo with the Headless Horseman. Sebastian seemed to have known when it was our turn though. While still sleeping he managed to pose and smile the entire time. For these layouts I used DCWV Zodiac and DCWV Minty Lace mostly. However I did add a touch of American Crafts Bootiful Night for the half circles and also the pumpkins.

This is another photo from the class but again from our October trip. While waiting for Sleepy Hallow to start Sebastian took the time to play with props set out up front for the photographer. For this layout I used American Crafts Bootiful Night and also a little bit of Simple Stories Frankie And Friends. Embellishments are also Bootiful Night.

Hey look a layout from our March trip! Sebastian absolutely loved the teacups and the faster we would spin the more he laughed! For this layout I used Echo Park Magic and Wonder. My background sheet however came from Simple Stories Say Cheese. Embellishments are a mixture of those two collections as well.

Its such a fun class and I can't wait to keep going with it.
Until next time!

Just like Daddy

Hello everyone! Hope all is well! I decided to take a break from Disney for a little bit and work on some of Sebastian's baby pictures. In a perfect world I would be all caught up since he is only a 1.5 so there can't be that many photos. That's a perfect world. In reality, no where near caught up.
For this layout I used the August sketch from Stuck?! Sketch.
I really liked this sketch and had a few photos that would go well with it so I know I will use it again. And here is my layout for it.
For this layout I used mostly Crate Paper Boys Rule as well as some papers and odds and ends from Simple Stories So Rad.  Here are some close ups.

One of his Sebastian's favorite things when he was an infant was curling up in Michael's arm and watching him play Call of Duty. Often the loud noises and the comfort of being with his daddy would put him to sleep!
Sebastian still loves to watch his daddy play PlayStation but instead of being curled up ready for a nap tries to grab the controller and "help" Michael.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope the rest of the week goes awesome for everyone!
Until next time!

A trip through the 100 Acre Woods.

For Sebastian's first birthday I wanted to make sure he had lunch with some special friends. I went back and forth on a few restaurants but finally decided on Crystal Palace. I was a little concerned that since he wasn't too familiar with the characters he wouldn't enjoy them as much or worse, scream bloody murder. But I was quickly proven wrong.
Winnie the Pooh was the first to visit our table. Being his first character meal, he was a little unsure what was going on since he knew it was time to eat but yet a friend had come to visit him. He quickly (and happily) accepted the change though.

Up next was Tigger who was excited to learn that Sebastian was celebrating his first birthday! Together they did what Tigger did best and bounced around a little. Sebastian quickly forgot that it was time for lunch and was so excited to see who would come to visit next!

Up next was Piglet. Sebastian loved how many hugs he was willing to give and knew that he was such a cuddly little guy.

Finally we saw Eeyore. Sebastian was more then willing to give Eeyore such a big hug and I think Eeyore even smiled a little!

For all of these layouts I used Basic Grey Fact & Fiction. I loved how the colors from this collection seemed to work perfectly with all of the characters. I also used a few Basic Gray Birthday embellishments and a few random embellishments that I had in my stash.

That's it for now. I am happy to say for theo the of July I was able to complete 31 layouts! Yay!
Unil next time!

Planning a Disney Trip

If you have ever been to Disney World, you know there is a lot of planning involved. And while their app is great the Wifi not so much. Often leaving frustration trying to figure out where you need to be next. For our trip in September, I decided to create a planning journal. And what better collection for a planning journal then the 3 Simple Stories Say Cheese collections! For this mini book, I also wanted a try a few techniques that I have always wanted to do but too afraid to do on a layout.   It's still a work in progress but here is what I have so far.

To make it easier to flip to the day I need, I added my own little tab to the side of the page.

This is an envelope that I folded myself. I looked up various Orgami folds and found this one to be easy but neat looking as well. I actual used a piece of tracing paper and stamped on the ink. I tried to add some texture but it didn't show up so well.
For this page I added water to my ink and wiped onto my paper. It was a little difficult finding the right ratio of ink and water but overall I am pretty happy with it.

I have left plenty of space to add in Fast pass times in addition little notes of fun adventures that may have happened during the day. The very last page is a file folder so I can add any little souvenirs (or those pesky receipts) to it.

That's it for now. I am having a lot of fun with this mini book so far and still have a few new things I want to try out.
Until next time!
